A Food Roots experience is a combination of culinary tourism and agricultural tourism. We explore a region. We visit the grower and producer at their farm, ranch, vineyard, workshop or showroom. We talk to them and listen to their stories. Their stories give us the foundation to understand our food roots. We learn from their shared experience and wisdom. We sample their products to better understand how we can integrate the diversity and abundance of Texas food and wine into our daily lives.
There are many ways to tell a story. At Food Roots we explore regional and native food from historical, cultural and contemporary points of view. Our local producers, growers and makers are the experts. They are passionate about producing great food and anxious to share their story, the story of their land and the story of their bounty. Through interaction with our experts we help each guest explore their personal food roots while they immerse themselves in the diverse abundance of Texas food and wine.
We keep each Food Roots experience small with typically no more than 25 guests at a time. This small size gives each guest an intimate food and wine experience featuring growers, producers and the abundance of food and wine products available in Texas, while challenging each person to change the way they interact with food.
