I moved to Alaska from Oklahoma in 1965 in pursuit of opportunity, and worked the oilfields of the Cook Inlet just like I had while living in Oklahoma. Then in 1973 I got into commercial fishing and I purchased my first commercial fishing permit. It became such a great way of life that I have been commercial fishing ever since. My three kids all grew up in the fishing industry and still participate in the fishing business today. I love to fish, and I have shared this love with my whole family. My kids manage the commercial fishing set-net beach site, while my long time fishing buddy Harold and I fish my drift boat, the Shadee Lady.
