We are Donald and Jackie King, owners of P.O.P. Acres Ranch and Farm. We both come from ranch & farmer families. We chose to move back to our agrarian roots bringing our financial training with us.
Our growing concern is a dependable source of organic and local food for our family. We are raising more than we need to make our farm sustainable.
After learning about the great desire for local organic foods through the Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association and Friends of the Dallas Farmers Market, we felt compelled to share that knowledge with our neighboring farmers and ranchers.
Our farm is determined to bring clean meats and produce to local consumers. We are conveniently located near Waco, Dallas and Austin. Our beef are grass-fed only. Our steaks are lean but juicy and USDA approved. 80 of our acres are certified organic. The remaining 43 acres have been in transition and are ready to register as organic.
Our cattle receive no grain - only extra organic hay during late winter. Natural minerals are offered free-choice and our beef actually enjoy apple-cider vinegar in a near-by trough. All our bulls were born on our farm and weaned naturally. We regularly walk our pastures keeping an eye on the well-being of our cattle which are gentle. Our mama cows are excellent mothers and have strong, healthy calves.
Our farm is a wonderful place for them to be and we make great effort to ensure their peace and health. We are grateful for their contribution to the farm.
We have Monthly Market Days for meats & cheeses. P.O.P. Acres can arrange also to deliver or ship beef products to you.
We have formed a local network of like-minded producers who raise grass-fed poultry and pork. They also offer eggs and cheeses. Our members are bringing organic produce to the Corsicana Farmers Market. We just started our group in January so our produce offerings are growing.
