SB Longhorns has been raising Texas Longhorn cattle since 2002 and now have approximately 15 head of cattle. Cattle and lean longhorn beef are for sale at all times. We are really proud of our herd and would love to show you around.
Longhorns are beautiful animals and everyone with an acreage should consider having a couple. So give us a call or contact us via email and make plans to stop by for a visit. When you come, be sure to bring the kids, a camera, and a cooler ---you'll want to take home some Tasty Texas Longhorn Beef.
We offer grass fed beef. Our cattle are never put-up and "finished" on grain. We want to offer you a very natural/basic and nutritious beef product. The only feed supplements our cattle receive are described below:
Caller Cubes - Cubes are used so that we can corral our cattle when needed. They are used very infrequently and only in very small quantities most of the year. However, during winter, we sometimes feed cubes to supplement winter grazing when winter pastures cannot provide the needed nutrients. Cubes are used sparingly just to provide needed nutrition, never to fatten cattle.
We also may feed protein tubs, but we strive to purchase only "all natural" tubs that do not contain any animal byproducts or urea. Again, these are used only in enough quantity to ensure the animal remains healthy and to ensure cows can adequately nurse their calves. They are not used to fatten the animal for market.
Minerals - Mineral blocks and supplements are provided "free choice" to our cattle at all times.
Hay - Hay is fed in winter months to supplement winter grasses - much of the hay is cut from our fields.
We eat the same beef that we sell to you, so you can be assured that we take great care to provide you with a very high quality product.
Our meat is processed only in USDA- inspected processing plants. We currently use Fischer's Meat Market in Muenster, Texas.
